Medical mal-practitioners? Post Punk emergency? Ninja nurses gone wild?

The descriptions are understandable but none quite capture the charming weirdness that is SURGEON MARTA.

Hailing from Los Angeles, CA and Dublin, Ireland - Surgeon Marta is a smog filtered, guys and gals guitar gang that leaves audiences bruised, confused and howling for more.

The story of course doesn't end there. Plenty of bands can tear it up live but often lack the one vital ingredient that separates the good from the bad... namely infectious memorable songs. To this end Surgeon Marta now reveal their DIY and songwriting credentials with the self-release of their debut 10-track album.

RACE TO THE RED is a gritty blend of girl town harmonix, menacing guitar hooks and primal sci-fi atmospherics. However it is not the hidden songs or vignettes that contain the albums biggest surprise but the title track itself. Showing masterful restraint the band has created a punk noir anthem of hypnotic intensity that repeated listens can't diminish.

A broad range of influences and comparisons abound but RACE TO THE RED is as riotously unique as it is raw, dirty and seductive.

Call it the red cross, the holy cross or the double cross, only one thing's for certain, don't say sick...... say SURGEON MARTA.
